Walter David Munday

Born: 1873; Died: 1944; Married: Lucy Jane Southwell

Walter David was born in 1873 and married Jane Southwell, daughter of Samson and Elizabeth Southwell, in 1896. They settled at 'Ah Chow' north of Hall. Their children were Zolomy, Florence Victoria (Mrs F.O. Southwell), Cecil Bertram and Ruby (Mrs E. Bush).
Walter David died in 1944 and Jane died in 1955.

Walter Munday - Obituary

Following an operation the death occurred in the Yass District Hospital on Sunday morning of Mr Walter David Munday aged 70 years of 'Ah Chow' Hall. Deceased had been ailing for the past twelve months. Born at Canberra the late Mr Munday settled in Hall at a very early age. He lived there for 68 years and was well known and respected. He was one of the victims of the bush fires early last month, which destroyed a portion of his property.

Besides his widow Mrs Lucy Munday, he is survived by two brothers, William (Camden), Fred (Canberra) two daughters, Florrie (Mrs Frank Southwell, Hall), Ruby (Mrs Eric Bush, Canberra) and one son, Cecil (Hall). The funeral took place on Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church Hall to the Hall Cemetery. [Queanbeyan Age 3.3.1944]
