George Kinlyside's Tools

12 December 2012

George Kendall Kinlyside operated a blacksmiths, carriage building and wheelwright business in Hall Village from1901. The descendants of George Kinlyside, together with the "Friends of Hall School Museum", are preparing a display of both the Kinlyside and Hollingsworth families including George's life and business as part of the "Hall & District 1913" exhibition for the ACT Heritage Festival in April next year.

Eileen Wignall and her husband David are in possession of some of George's old tools and they kindly allowed Kingsley Southwell, Graham Moss from the Hall Mens Shed and myself to view and photograph some of the old tools and other items that were used by George Kinlyside in his business in these early years.

These photographs will contribute to the Museum's collection of early Hall artifacts.
