McDonald, James

Mr James McDonald was appointed as the house to house teacher with Naas in March 1889. His father wrote to the local lnspector of Schools expressing his concern at his son's appointment: ".... he is a bad bushman and has not been usd to roughing it"

The response from the lnspector: "Mr McDonald is amongst friendly people, is fairy well paid (ninety pounds per year) and is contented with his current appointment. His removal is therefore neither desirable nor necessary"
