Rediscovering Ginninderra:
James Carpenter

Born: c. 1805

James Carpenter was one of the earliest convicts allocated to George Palmer's Ginninderra station.

Very little is known about him other than what is found in his transportation records. He arrived on the Countess Harcourt in 1826 at the age of 21 years. His sentence was seven years.

The 1828 census records him as 'a shepherd to G T Palmer at Ginninderra'.
