The great news is that the Hall School Museum has been successful in the 2014-15 round of ACT Heritage Grants.

The Grant was awarded by the Minister responsible for Heritage, Mr. Mick Gentleman MLA at a ceremony at St Pauls Church, Manuka.

The funding will enable restoration work to be carried out on the floor, walls and roof and ceiling space of the old school building. This work was identified in the Museum's Conservation Management Plan and an assessment of the building carried out by Heritage Architect Philip Leeson in 2013.

At the completion of the work the building will be free from insect, dirt and dust intrusion from the ceiling space and the floor and the foundations and wall attachments be made more secure. These measures will also protect the fragile and important collection within the building from deterioration.

The Hall School Museum wishes to thank ACT Heritage for the funding of this project which has come at a vital time in the restoration of the original school building.
