Nancy Tingey was a mover and shaker for Hall history and heritage way back in the seventies and eighties, setting up the Hall Historical Society as a branch of the Canberra and District Historical Society. The Society laid the groundwork for eventual heritage listing of the Hall precinct, winning a grant to carry out a heritage assessment.

Nancy called by yesterday to donate to the Centre a number of books and drawings of, or inspired by Hall. The books included copies of the 'classics' - Smith, Gillespie, Winch, and the authoritative book on Australian quilts and quilting which included information about a number of local examples. Our warmest thanks to Nancy for this gift. When the items are accessioned they will be kept in the Library.
