Heazlett, Mr James

James Heazlett was active in sporting events at Hall, and was Secretary for a while of both the One Tree Hill Race Club and the Hall Cricket Club. After teaching at Jeir and Nanama Half time schools until 1905, he settled at Gundaroo where he was licensee of the Royal Hotel at Gundaroo (1907-1920). He became President of the Gundaroo Literary Institute and Secretary-Treasurer of the Gundaroo committee established to support the Lord Mayor's Fund early in the Great War.

Heazlett Street, Gungahlin, is named after him.
