Field Work experience for University of Canberra students

The Centre was delighted to again host a large (thirty four) group of student from the University of Canberra for their Filed Work day. Students were required to select and object from our collection, make a drawing of it, photograph it, and describe it - all to professional standards. The Field Work practical study is part of a course delivered by Dr Alison Wain who teaches units on conservation, cultural heritage management, material culture and sustainability in heritage.

This is the third year that Aliison has brought a student class to the Centre, which she finds a convenient and congenial location for this purpose. Centre volunteers were on hand to advise and assist with information about some of the objects selected.

Our photo shows some of the students at work in our Conservation Room.
